SALEM – Philip Austin “Skip” Wilson Jr., 68, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at Salem Regional Medical Center on November 21, 2025.
Born on February 24, 1957, in Salem, he was the son of the late Philip A. Wilson Sr. and Sara (Hinkle) Wilson McClish.
Skip was best known for serving up smiles and great conversation as a bartender at Bob's Hideaway. Before that, he spent several years at Sebring Equipment.
He had a passion for the serenity of fishing. Additionally, he was an avid technology enthusiast, who enjoyed building and working on computers.
Skip was a beloved brother to Naomi Wilson. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews, Charles (Amber) Sanders Jr. and Robert Stanley, and his niece, Kelly Stanley. He was preceded in death by his step-sister, Barbara McClish, and step-father, Robert McClish.
Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, with a service to immediately follow at 6:00 p.m.
