HANOVERTON - Richard Wayne Serensky, 75, passed away at his home in Hanoverton on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Rich was born on July 1, 1949, in Salem, the son of the late Steve and Mildred (Meser) Serensky.
His childhood was filled with the adventures and camaraderie of a large family, and he shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and his brother, Robert Serensky.
He leaves behind his daughter, Mikey Serensky and granddog, Amos of Hanoverton; his brother, Steve Serensky of Sarasota, Fla.; his sister, Francine Hall and her husband Lawrence of Salem; his brother, Joe Serensky and his wife Denise of Salem; his brother, Tom Serensky and his wife Sandy of Dublin, Ga.; and his sister, Sue Dreiling and her husband Jim of North Jackson. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Rich was a proud 1968 graduate of Western Reserve High School. His service to his country was a source of great pride for he and his family. As a US Navy Veteran, he exemplified the values of patriotism, which he carried throughout his life.
Rich’s work ethic was evident early on. He followed a path of precision and skill, leading him to a successful career as a Tool and Die Maker. Rich retired from the General Motors Lordstown Division in 2003, leaving behind a trail of excellence and respect among his colleagues. His dedication to his craft did not end with his retirement; Rich continued to share his expertise and commitment to quality while working for the Canfield Fairgrounds.
His interests and hobbies included a love for the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He also supported the University of Mount Union football team; he enjoyed listening to the games on the radio. Rich also enjoyed wood working, antiques, and spending time outside.
Following Rich’s wishes there are no calling hours or services planned at this time.
