Richard "Dick" Lee Ferguson

SALEM - Richard Lee Ferguson, 76, affectionately known as Dick by those who knew him best, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Hospice House. Born on March 25, 1948, in Salem, Ohio, Richard was the son of the late William L. and Mary Menning Ferguson.

Dick’s early life was marked by his graduation from Greenford High School in 1966. A hardworking and dedicated laborer, Richard contributed his skills to several companies in the area.

An avid sports enthusiast, Richard's passion for the game was only surpassed by the joy he felt watching his grandchildren play. His presence on the sidelines was a source of encouragement and pride for his family. Richard also found great pleasure in garden tractor pulling, a hobby that showcased his competitive spirit and love for the outdoors.

 Richard was a member of Bunker Hill Methodist Church.

Richard's life was enriched by his beloved wife, Cinda Ferguson (Davis), whom he married on May 4, 1968. Together, they raised two daughters, Shari (Chip) Althouse of Salem and Traci (Ryan) Hawk of Beloit.

He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Jakob Althouse, Jenna (Jerry) Cho, Mati Hawk, and Austin Hawk, whose achievements and milestones were the highlight of his later years. Richard's love for his family was unconditional, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Richard is also survived by his brother, William Ferguson of Salem, and his sister, Pat (Dwain) Yeagley of Salem.

Per Richard's wishes, there will be no services.
