Robert W. Fluharty

SALEM - Robert Wayne Fluharty, 65, died peacefully Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Salem North in Salem after a lengthy illness.

Robert was born on August 15, 1959, in Salem, the son of Robert Howard and Margaret Marie McKenna Fluharty.

Robert was a 1978 graduate of Salem High School. He worked at a few different companies performing labor and installation work. He was a man of strong opinions, funny, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was loved by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his children, Samantha (Ulises) Fluharty Cortes of Indiana and Chase Fluharty of Michigan; his sister, Brenda Schmidt of Salem; brother, Thomas Fluharty of Washingtonville; half-sister, Dana Hill of Salineville; granddaughter, Mari Anna Cortes and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tina Lanney; half-sister, Jean Fluharty; brother-in-law, Lynn Schmidt; niece, Lori Custer; and nephew, Jason Lanney.

No services will be held at Robert's request.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
