Robert Horn Obituary

POLAND - Robert E. Horn, 77, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his residence in Poland, Ohio.

Born on June 14, 1947, in Salem, Robert was the son of John R. and Katy Ann (Baird) Horn.

A proud veteran, Robert served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service, he returned to his hometown and became a well-known figure in the community. A 1966 graduate of Salem High School, Robert's love for cars steered him towards a lifelong career in the automotive industry. He was the proud owner of Horn's Body Shop in Salem and later expanded his business to the sunny state of California with West Coast Auto Collision in Palm Springs.

Family trips to Disneyland were among his most treasured memories, where his fondness for Donald Duck and all things duck-related was on full display, much to the delight of his loved ones. Robert also had a fondness for rabbits.

An avid outdoorsman, Robert's childhood was filled with adventures in hunting and fishing, instilling in him a deep appreciation for nature that he carried throughout his life. He also enjoyed going to car shows. His love for the outdoors was a testament to his spirit of exploration and adventure. He had a great sense of humor.

He shared 40 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Cheryl Horn, and together they celebrated 43 years of companionship. He was a father to his daughters, Felisha Horn and Krystle Horn, and a grandfather to Kaylah Williams and Terawni Williams. His siblings, Sue (Paul) Mellott of Salem, John Horn of Florida, and David (Dee) Horn of Amherst, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember Robert's kindness.

Robert was preceded in death by his step-sister, Mary Martha Salvino, and step-brother, James Horn.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
