Robert K. Howell

SALEM – Robert K. Howell, 89, died Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Park Vista Health Center in Boardman. He was born July 6, 1931 in Salem, son of the late Karl and Katherine (Stratton) Howell.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked as a tool and die maker at several companies throughout his life. He was also a gemologist and worked as a jeweler at Daniel Smith Jewelers and owned his own shop called Hour Place. Robert enjoyed his grandchildren coming to visit at Myrtle Beach, making jewelry, spending time with his bird, Nate, and loved to watch war movies and westerns.
Preceding him in death were two wives, Arlene Howell and Diann Howell whom he was married to for 26 years each.
Survivors include daughters, Christine (Mike) Mancuso of Garner, NC, Kathy (Mike) Paster of Salem and Eileen (Ted) Gagnon of Salem; two stepdaughters, 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wives, two brothers, Gene and Don Howell; a sister, Nancy Hickey and a niece, Lois Peters also preceded him in death.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Grandview Cemetery. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
