SALEM - Bob Baird, a beloved father, grandfather, entrepreneur, and friend, passed into the arms of the Lord peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Salem, Ohio, on May 25, 1956, Bob was the son of the late Herman and Alice M. (Rogers) Baird. He was a man whose presence was felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bob's entrepreneurial journey began over four decades ago and later he went on to start his own Core Company outside of Salem. His tireless work ethic and innovative spirit were the foundation upon which he built a successful business, respected and renowned in the community. Bob was a self-made man whose determination and drive were matched only by his generosity and compassion.
Those who knew Bob understood that he was a person of incredible character. His sense of humor was infectious, and his quick wit never failed to bring you by surprise. Bob had the rare ability to connect with anyone he met, making them feel immediately welcomed and valued. His selfless nature was evident in the countless acts of kindness he performed, often anonymously, to ensure that others' needs were met before his own.
Bob's love for his family was immeasurable. He was a loving father to nine sons: Nate Baird, Mathew Baird, Eddie Baird, Zac Baird, Mike Baird, Michael Franklin, Bobby Baird, Brandon Baird, B.J Baird; three daughters. Jackie Baird, Hayle Baird, and Isabella Baird. He was doting grandfather to several grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His happiest moments were spent in the company of his family at his house where he would cook his well-known meals and tell unique stories.
Bob Baird's legacy is one of unconditional love, laughter, and selflessness. His impact on the lives he touched will continue to resonate for generations to come. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Bob on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Stark Memorial.
A private funeral service will be held.
