Robert "Bob" Todd Obituary

Robert D. Todd, 98, passed away Monday May 25, 2026, at Salem Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 20, 1927, in Salem, Ohio to the late Harry S. and Mable L. (Glenn) Todd. Bob graduated from Salem High School and served in the United States Army from October 1945 to March 1947. Most of his service time was spent in Panama.

Upon returning to Salem, he enrolled in trade school and became an accomplished carpenter.

In Bob’s spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling and basketball. A constant throughout his life was his appreciation for the outdoors. You could often find him sitting outside in the stillness, taking in all the beauty around him.

He was very involved in his church, First Friends of Salem. He served on several boards and was active in many events. He was also very proud to be a part of the Friends Disaster Service program.

Bob married Laurel Ball on February 10, 1950. They spent 76 loving and unforgettable years together.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Laurel, three sons, Howard Todd, DVM (Louise Jones-Todd, DVM), Ted (Becky) Todd, and Tim (Jane) Todd, a daughter, Susan (Jim) Young, and a sister, Dorcas Beck. He will also be dearly missed by his nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard G. Todd, Sr.
