Robert J. Abrams, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Hospice House with his loving family by his side.
Robert was born on May 16, 1944, in Salem, Ohio, to the late Walter and Stella (Koniowsky) Abrams. He graduated from Salem High School in 1962.
Shortly after graduating high school, Robert enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Navy on the USS Coral Sea until 1967, earning several medals and a commendation ribbon for his time and dedication.
After returning to Salem, Robert married Carol Cooper in 1968.
He worked production for Land O’Lakes for nearly 20 years before retiring. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed woodworking, having made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. He loved traveling with his wife, Carol, especially taking trips to Punta Gorda, Florida. He spent many winters in Florida, soaking up as much sunshine as he could. He also loved the water and took boating up as a hobby.
Robert held a membership with the Knights of Columbus as well as the local VFW post. He was also a devoted member of St. Paul’s for many years.
Robert leaves behind his wife Carol Abrams, a son, Bob (Christy) Abrams, a daughter, Christine Abrams, and two grandchildren, Alexa and Alec. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Gary (B.J.) Abrams, his sister Cindy Severa, and sister-in-law Lea Ellen Abrams.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ron Abrams.
There will be no services for Robert at this time.
