Ronald D. Miller

SALEM - Ronald D. Miller, 74, passed away surrounded by his family, on December 9, 2025.

Ron was born on July 6, 1951, in Canton, to Harold Miller and Ruth (Barr) Shellenberger.

Ron led an honorable and fulfilling life dedicated to both his country and community. He was a brave veteran of the United States Navy. After his military service, he continued to exemplify the values of hard work, loyalty, and camaraderie at the Lordstown General Motors plant, where he served as a foreman for 40 years until his retirement.

He was an active member of his local community, serving in six area clubs and organizations. He was an avid sports fan, showcasing his talent at the local bowling alley. Ron and his son, Shane, loved working on cars with each other. When not bowling, tinkering on cars, or serving his community, he enjoyed traveling and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to honor Ron’s memory is his loving family, daughter, Kasey Miller; son, Ronald Shane Miller (fiancée Desiree Kaltenbach); mother of his children, Peggy Miller; brother, Daniel (Penny) Shellenberger; sisters, Kathy (Doyle) Fisher and Maria (Mark) Goodrich; his lifelong friend, Dick (Betsy) Myers; and his five grandchildren.

Ron was predeceased by his brother, Michael Miller; step-father, Charles Shellenberger; step-mother, Hilda Miller; and his beloved grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Barr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
