SALEM - Ruth Ann Bruderly, 76, died January 21, 2026, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Ruth was born on October 11, 1949, in Hartville, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph P. and Susan (Wengerd) Yoder.
In Ohio, she met the man who would become her first husband, Billy Ray Drake. Together, they embarked on a new journey, relocating to Sarasota, Florida. It was there that they built a home and raised their three children. Billy Ray preceded her in death on April 6, 1987.
For over two decades, Ruth Ann worked as a forklift operator at Tropicana. It was during this period that Ruth Ann's heart opened to love once more, and she found companionship with her coworker, James "Jim" Bruderly. The couple married on June 29, 1996. They later moved to Jim's hometown of Salem, Ohio, where they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and became faithful members of Damascus Methodist Church. Ruth was widowed for a second time when Jim passed away on January 14, 2024, leaving her with cherished memories of their time together.
Ruth Ann found joy in quilting and sewing, sharing many of her creations with her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana. She enjoyed the companionship of her miniature Yorkie, Daisy Ann and watching the HGTV channel and tv game shows, especially the Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal. More than anything, she loved family time and no visit was complete without playing a game of Yahtzee.
Ruth Ann's legacy will be carried on by her children, Angela (Thomas) Adams of Salem, Michell (George) Imes, and Billy (Angela) Drake, both of Bradenton, FL; siblings, Kathryn, Pauline, John, and Bill, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St., Salem, and again from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2026, at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
