Susan "Suzy" K. Anderson

SALEM - Susan “Suzy” K. Anderson, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her home in Salem, Ohio.

Suzy was born in Canton, Ohio, to the late Howell and Wilda (Bergert) Jones. She attended Lincoln High School in Canton where she developed a fondness for education and sports. She played softball and basketball while attending Lincoln High School and would always remain a proud Lion.

Suzy married Vincent Anderson on November 30, 1968. They would have been married for 57 years. Through their years together they created a beautiful family, took many trips to Barlow Lake, and most importantly, supported each other through all of life’s obstacles.

 Suzy worked various jobs in her life. When her boys were young, she was an entrepreneur, having a successful wallpaper business in the area. Suzy worked at the Salem Public Library, which gave her the opportunity to share her love for reading, educating, and helping others. She also spent time working for a finance company in downtown Salem. 

Suzy was also involved in her community.  She was a den mother for the Cub scouts, some of whom can still recall her fun teaching qualities. Also, she coached basketball for the Presbyterian girls’ church league team. Working in the community gave her an immense feeling of fulfillment.  Everyone will remember her peanut butter, sugar and chocolate chip cookies. Butterscotch pie and caramel corn were also favorites.

Suzy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. When she wasn’t working or taking care of her family, she loved spending time with great friends. 

She was a determined individual.  Whatever she set her mind to, you could be assured Suzy was going to do her best to make it occur. Backgammon was her game, and she played it with vengeance.  She loved knitting and needlepoint, swimming, or leisurely sailing in her younger years.

There will be a private family service in the future. Suzy will be laid to rest in Coman Cemetery, Yankee Springs township, Middleville, Michigan.
