SALEM - Vianor D. Darin, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his residence in Salem.
Born on February 13, 1941, in Barberton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Vianor D. and Helen (Panchak) Darin Sr.
His life was marked by his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his passion for the simple joys in life. Vianor proudly served in the Air Force, where he demonstrated his commitment to his nation and the values he held dear. He was a proud 1959 alumnus of Whithall-Yearling High School, and he was a die-hard fan of the Buckeyes, as well as the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
His love for sports was only matched by his love for the outdoors. Vianor was an avid gardener, skilled golfer and an enthusiastic fisherman. His adventurous spirit shone through in his support for his son's drag racing endeavors, where he was not just a spectator but an active participant.
His legacy is carried on by his devoted family. He is survived by his loving sons, Chris (Charina) Darin, Greg Darin, and Jeff Darin, as well as his daughter-in-law, Tiffany Darin. His life's journey is also remembered by his sister, Sandy, and brother, Jim.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Darin.
A celebration of Vianor's life will be held privately by the family. It will be a time for them to honor his memory, share stories of his life's adventures, and reflect on the love and laughter he brought into their lives. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he made on those around him will endure.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
