SALEM – Violet J. Bleakley, 95, was reunited her husband, John, Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was born April 20, 1929, in Marietta, daughter of the late Elmer and Garnet (Bayless) Skinner.
Violet worked as an executive secretary for Gottschall Tool & Die for 25 years. She attended Salem Church of the Nazarene. Violet enjoyed golfing, bowling and gambling.
Her husband, John Bleakley Jr. whom she married March 27, 1948, preceded her in death June 11, 1999.
She leaves behind a daughter, Gail (Arthur) Bowen of Salem; son, Randy (Dianna) Bleakley of Salem; sister, Merna Berga of Vermillion; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John C. Bleakley III and 12 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Grandview Chapel with Daniel P. Madden officiating. She will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.
