William Edward (“Bill”) Carr, 78, died on November 16, 2024, in Sebring, Ohio, surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Dorothy Haupt Carr and James V. Carr, M.D.
He was a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University and worked in weather observation for many years at the Pittsburgh and Akron-Canton airports. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and loved nothing more than spending time on his property in Pennsylvania, especially near the pond he built. His favorite cloud was an altocumulus standing lenticular. He loved tinkering and could always think of a way to improve an object or process. Bill had a great sense of humor. If he could today, he would encourage you to hug your family and go outside.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Carr; daughters, Katherine (Mark) Esposito and Hilary (Chris) Bean; his twin, Charles “Bud” (Debbie) Carr; brother, James (Linda) Carr, and sisters, Mary Ann (James) Valentour and Colleen (Earl Rectanus) Carr; stepchildren, Michelle (Stan) Stanek, and John (Connie) McElgin; grandchildren, Siena, Adela, Landon, Kristin, Nicole, Kasey, and Rian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nancy E. Carr, Esq.; and niece, Chelsea Carr Rectanus.
